Wowtac has an interesting new 18650 light out. It’s a shorty, with a short reflector and a Luminus SST-40. It boasts on-board charging too, and includes a cell in the package. Read on for some testing!
Today I have in my hands a new light by Fenix. It’s the E30R, and it’s essentially a 18650 version of the E18R, which I liked quite a bit. It’s also quite a bit like the LD30, which I said would be better if it was only an e-switch light, not a dual switch light. The E30R is basically the LD30 as an e-switch only light. (So I already expect to like it!)
A while back Thrunite released the TC15, a 18650 light with built in charging and an indicating switch. Thrunite made a special edition of the TC15 with youtuber The Outsider. Check out that channel! I’ve never heard of it but to be honest it looks pretty cool. Here’s a test of the customized The Outsider edition of the Thrunite TC15!
Olight has a couple of new, similar lights out. Updates of some older models, they are. These are the S1RII Baton, and the S2R Baton II. Yes, those are the official names. No, the 18650 version isn’t “S2RII Baton” – it’s actually “S2R Baton II,” while the 16340 version is the “S1RII Baton.”
Throughout this review, I’ve tried to always discuss the S1RII Baton first, followed by the S2R Baton II. The photos are generally laid out that way. The lights are similar enough that if I don’t specify, you may assume that the feature being discussed is shared by the two lights.
Here’s another new Olight! This is a very simple little cr123 light, billed as “tactical.” I’ve been using it for a while; read on for more thoughts!
When I saw this light, I immediately knew it was one I wanted to see in person. Knowing it’s made by JETBeam made it even more appealing; I’ve reviewed a bunch of their lights and typically really like them. I liked this one for it’s shape, to be honest, but as a biker it’s nice to have a dedicated light made by a reputable company.
Another JETBeam with on-board charging! This time in 18650 format. I’ve already reviewed the similar AA/14500 light. I was excited to test this one out, because it’s also got an emitter I’ve never tested!
