The latest review item I have from Neal’s Gadgets is another Fireflies light. This is the PL47, a right angle 21700 light. It’s a “headlamp” in the sense that it ships with a headband, but most uses will likely not include it being an actual headlamp. I’m excited to have and test it; read on for more!
Here’s the second of a few lights I received from Neal’s Gadgets. I’m happy to be reviewing these FireFlies lights. This is the E07, a…
Neal from Neal’s Gadgets got in touch with me recently about having a look at some lights. I agreed, and I’m excited; Neal is the only place to get cool items!
Today I have the first of a few items Neal sent – it’s the Nightwatch Seeker Ns22. This is a thrower in 18650 format, with a bunch of unusual emitter options. It’s a simple light – the key to it is all these emitters!
Another charger from XTAR! They make great chargers, so I’m happy to have another one in my stable. This is a 3-bay, 3A max charger, which supports only Li-ion cells, but has the capability to hold 3×26650, or 3×21700. Very capable charger!
Today I have in for review a light I’ve been looking forward to (and pestering Sofirn for) for a long while now: The C8F 21700. I reviewed the original C8F (and that review didn’t go so well). Sofirn responsively made some changes to the light, and now it uses a 21700 cell instead of a 18650, and I think generally has some build quality improvements. Read on to see if that pans out!
Today I have another charger by XTAR in for review. I have reviewed a number of “simple” chargers by XTAR (the D2 and D4, for example). This is simple in the same way, but adds Quick Charge 3 connectivity. That means it should be capable of faster (much faster?) charging that other (non QC3) chargers. Let’s see if that pans out!
My first “real” cell charger was a Nitecore D4. Nitecore came close to replacing it a while back with the SC4, but they’ve certainly done it with these new two chargers – the USM2 and USM4. These chargers (most importantly?) fit 21700 cells, among other awesome features. Read on!
I was in need of 18650s recently, and there was a great price on these Liitokala 30q cells at Aliexpress. I like 30q cells, and I like good prices, so I bought 8 of these cells. There was a bunch of discussion on BLF and places regarding whether these cells are “real” or not. Read on to find out!
LiionWholesale sent a couple of their new cells for some testing. This is the new Samsung 50e, a 21700 li-ion cell. It’s rated for 10A continuous discharge. Read on for performance graphs!
After talking with the guys over at KillzoneFlashlights, and reviewing their 219b BLF-348, we got into some more serious discussions. They sent a few more lights. Two by Acebeam, and one of their own. Here’s the first of those, the Acebeam EC65.
I tend to like Rofis lights. They’re well made, very functional, and more often than not, just neat little lights. So I was excited when this MR30 showed up in the mail – the MR70 is still my go-to powerbank travel light. The MR30 is smaller with the same capacity, and loses the side light (which I never really used anyway). I’m excited to put it to the test!
Here’s a light I was so excited to get, and one I’m very pleased to have. It’s quite special – Nitecore’s highest output light at a claimed 10,000 lumens. I’ve been messing around with it for a while, and here are my tests and thoughts!
Xtar has a bunch of new chargers out, including this update to a previous model. This is the VC2S, which steps up the game from the original VC2 by adding an S!! Maybe more, but read on to find that info out!
