I find no better way to start 2020 than with a post about a RovyVon light. RovyVon was huge for me in 2019, and I have this post and more upcoming from them. This is the A28, a clear body light which has two secondary emitters – red and UV.
Convoy has released a new 26650 light. It’s a medium thrower, but with the addition of built-in charging and a side mechanical switch. Looks pretty solid on paper; read on to see how it tests!
What can I say about the TIKI that I haven’t already said about the RovyVon Aurora series. We should get this discussion out of the way at the start: version one of the Aurora, which was released maybe a year and a half ago, and this TIKI/TIKI LE are basically the same. I asked Nitecore about this specifically, and they declined to respond. I asked RovyVon about this specifically and they were very clear that this was in no way whatsoever a collaboration in any format.

Thrunite has a new headlamp on the scene. It’s one they tout as “the brightest headlamp with a single 18350 battery.” This is the Thrunite TH01, and here’s some testing and thoughts about it!
A Fun Fund Friday review of a light you all probably already own and have moved past… The Lumintop FW3C – yes another FW review! My copy of this light has been in my possession for a while now, so shipped with an early version of Andúril, and the review might not be the most relevant any more.
Wowtac has been bringing the hits lately, and most importantly, at a nice price. Today I have a version 2 of the A4 – really it’s practically a different light. This one’s a single cell (26650) and smaller head. Maybe a scaled down version of the original A4? Anyway, read on for thoughts and testing!
Nitecore has released a new headlamp, which incorporates some now-common features in unusual ways. It’s a dual emitter headlamp, with one CW and one WW emitter. Read on for how it works, and some testing!
Armytek has made an official Wizard Pro with Nichia 144A. It’s aptly named the Wizard Pro Nichia Warm, and here is my testing of it!
Lumintop had great success with the FW series, and expanded it greatly. They also went a different directly – a more standard light but with an e-switch on the side. That’s the EDC18, and here’s my testing of it!
Wowtac has an interesting new 18650 light out. It’s a shorty, with a short reflector and a Luminus SST-40. It boasts on-board charging too, and includes a cell in the package. Read on for some testing!
My Fun Fund Friday review for today is of a light I couldn’t not own. It’s an orange coated ReyLight called the Gemini. Now, this particular copy that I purchased myself, is from the secondary market, and the UI has been swapped entirely for something custom. So I’m mainly showing my evaluation of the physical light itself and I’ll probably also comment some on the UI, which is ToyKeeper’s Crescendo. Hope that type post interests you, and please read on!
Going Gear, the great store in Georgia sent me a light I’ve been itching to get my hands on… The Acebeam K75 – I’m sure you’ve heard of it, or if you’ve looked out your door at night you’ve probably seen me shining mine up into the air. This is a 18650×4 dedicated thrower with a Luminus SBT-90 Gen2, an uncommon emitter. Read on for some thoughts and testing!
Breaking out a standard classic for today’s post-Thanksgiving Fun Fund Friday review. It’s a twisty 10180 light by the well known Steve Ku of Veleno Designs. This is my second of these, and despite being available for years, they’re still being sold today!
The Folomov C2 is a tiny light, almost like a shrunken Olight S1 Mini, with a 14300 liion cell. It’s a nice little package; read on for more testing and thoughts!
RovyVon has released an update to their very popular Aurora A2/A3 series of lights. RovyVon sent over an updated A3 light – the A3x. This is as much a new light as it is an update, but addresses issues raised from the initial release. Have a look, and see if the improvements are compelling!
This is the Wuben TO50R, which started on BLF as “The Flashlight.” It claimed at the time 2500 lumens (bumped to 2800 now), high CRI, on-board charging, a cell included, and can be used as a powerbank, too.
Acebeam has dropped a new headlamp in the form of a three emitter 18650 light with USB-C charging. It’s a nice looking device with three emitter options. Read on for more thoughts and testing!
